Senior Project & People Manager – Defence

In a newly created role, you get the full responsibility of building a high-performance software team in the SitaWare Insight Program at the Copenhagen site. A leadership role in a product development organisation with a clear task to take the organisation to the next level. 

Systematic is a well-established, owner-led company that has experienced high growth and internationalization over the years. Today, there are 11 independent subsidiaries across the globe and the headquarter is in Aarhus, Denmark. As part of the growth journey, Systematic is establishing a new software development hub in the heart of Copenhagen.

Key management role - building a new team from scratch
With report to the Director of the SitaWare Insight Program you will get a broad leadership role working with project management as well as people and stakeholder management. You will get the responsibility of hiring and building the new SitaWare Insight team in Copenhagen. As an early member of the team in Copenhagen, you will have a unique opportunity to influence the focus and quality of the product, while shaping the direction of the Copenhagen office. 

You will be part of the Management Team in SitaWare Insight, and you will have the people leadership for your team including enabling continuous professional development of the team, driving performance and success. You have the overall responsibility for leading and managing projects, and your focus will be to ensure and create value by delivering product development on time, to the right quality and within budget. 

Your primary tasks will be to: 
  • Build and lead a high-performing scrum team of eight people that lives the Systematic Values and foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture
  • Manage, motivate, and challenge employees to grow and live their full potential while having fun
  • Set a clear direction and goals and structure for the team, and continuously identify and implement improvements within the team and across the program
  • Together with the team, plan the next iteration and establish conditions for the team to fulfil the goals
  • Lead project management for the development of features ensuring scope, cost, and quality delivery
  • Provide reports regularly and address issues on an ad hoc basis.
An ambitious and self-driven Senior Project Manager or Team Lead with a tech background
To succeed in this role, you have significant experience with project management and a proven track record of successfully managing software development projects from conception to delivery. You have leadership skills and experience from a similar position is preferable. Alternatively, you are a talented Project Manager or Team Lead ready to take the next step in your leadership career. 

You have experience from working in a medium to large company that is mature in software/IT development, so you know “what good looks like”. In addition, you have a relevant tech or IT related education at bachelor’s or master’s level and have worked with modern technologies. Your toolbox includes one or more of the following areas: Agile, Scrum, DevOps, CMMI or AI. 

As a person you are curious, proactive, and a strong relation builder. You are structured, trustworthy and a well-founded communicator, who can efficiently make the case at eye level, and you have a pragmatic approach to problem solving. You are goal oriented and performance driven, where you set the bar high and have a well-developed business understanding. As a leader, you possess empathy and are motivated by building a new team. It is essential that you can chart a course, get people on board, drive changes, and rally your team.
