Finance Controller

Be part of the development in a large international group 

You will report to the Senior Finance Manager and be part of the Finance department, consisting of 13 employees in Vejle. 

As Finance Controller you will be the driving force behind the annual budget process along with forecasts including consolidation and provide high-quality and timely reporting (budget and forecast) to key stakeholders.

One of your primary tasks will be to play a leading role in optimizing processes and tools. In other words, implement ”new ways of working”; meaning identifying and structuring processes and principles based on IT and further digitalization.

In this position, you will have close contact with PMI Group Finance and the local budget and forecast responsible, hence why it is important to establish a cooperation, that will run smoothly, efficiently, and live up to policies and guidelines.

Other main tasks are to:
  • Assist the other Finance Controllers in preparing financial closing and reporting (monthly and year-end)
  • Develop strong relationships with stakeholders, ensuring that their expectations and needs are managed and identify efficiencies where possible
  • Act as the primary contact and gate keeper for information requests from HQ in relation to budgets and forecasts
  • Ensure compliance with SOX and other internal controls
Experience with consolidating group financials 
To be successful in the role, you have experience with interacting as a financial sparring partner with business controlling, local finance managers in group subsidiaries as well as stakeholders across all levels of the organization. You have experience consolidating group financials regarding budgeting and forecasting. 

You have strong analytical skills, just as you understand how to divide problems into relevant parts, securing quality in the details while keeping a general view of your deliverables.

You are experienced in creating reports and presenting to management, and you understand how to convert complex data into simple and comprehensible language. You have a passion for, and evidence of, driving continuous improvements in a finance function, incl. automation using IT systems and robotics.

You have a proactive and structured work approach, and you are curious about the business behind the numbers. You will utilize your curiosity and knowledge to challenge the status quo, thereby contributing to the continuous development of the company and your personal career.  You will be confident in managing stakeholders, ensuring their expectations are managed and fulfilled.

You are probably already working as a Financial Controller or as an accountant and possess the following skills and experience:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in economics or auditing, and significant relevant working experience in an international environment or as an auditor with 3-5 years’ experience, preferably with auditing of medium-sized and larger clients, where experience with consolidation is obtained
  • A strong personal drive, a sense of accountability, curiosity and desire to be part of a winning team
  • Great stakeholder management skills with the ability to communicate at all levels, manage conflicting priorities and influence change
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
  • Proven ability of optimizing processes and a continuous improvement mindset
  • Advanced IT skills within finance related systems such as ERP, consolidation systems, data warehouse and MS Excel. SAP experience is an advantage
  • A well-structured working style with a good sense of detail
