Vega Salmon is one of Europe's largest producers of salmon for the retail and foodservice markets, supplying large international retail chains and foodservice providers. In January 2023, the company became part of the Norwegian group Coast Seafood, which is a globally oriented seafood company with exports to more than 80 markets worldwide.
Coast Seafood works throughout the value chain with a focus on quality, sustainability and strict food safety standards, and the acquisition of Vega Salmon has strengthened the Group's position in the processing and global distribution of salmon and other seafood products.
Vega Salmon's administration is located in Haderslev with approx. 20 employees, while the production is located in Handewitt in Germany, where the plant employs between 300 and 700 employees, depending on the season. In addition, Vega Salmon has sales offices in Italy, Germany and Thailand.

Finance Director
Do you want to play a central role in consolidating and further developing the finance function in an international manufacturing company – and at the same time be a close sparring partner for the management in an exciting industry characterized by fierce competition and volatility?Vega Salmon is looking for an experienced and business-oriented Finance Director who can maintain stability, transparency and high quality in the financial processes and actively contribute to the continued development of the company in close collaboration with the parent company Coast Seafood.
As Finance Director, you are responsible for the Finance function in Vega Salmon across Haderslev and Handewitt. You report to the Group CFO at Coast Seafood in Norway and are a member of the Senior Leadership Team at Vega Salmon, which consists of leaders from across the organization. The role ranges widely from strategic sparring to hands-on operations and involves responsibility for financial management and reporting.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Management responsibility for Finance in both Haderslev and Handewitt, including personnel management, motivation and organization. Finance Director is a unifying figure for the two entities. Involvement and proximity to the employees are of great importance. There are a total of five employees, and the team is now being expanded with a Financial Controller.
- Responsibility for the daily financial management. Create an ongoing overview of profitability and liquidity in the Vega Group. Identify and solve problems in collaboration with the management team and CFO.
- Analyses, including analyses of variance, and identification of improvement potentials in close collaboration with the Executive Board, CFO and the Business Controlling team.
- Identify areas that challenge profitability and take active responsibility for improvements to processes, systems and reporting.
- Collaborate closely with the Group CFO on financing, financial management and strategic assessments.
You have a solid professional financial background and thrive in a broad role, where you can both set structure and direction and at the same time work hands-on with the daily financial management. You have a relevant education as Master of Science in Business Economics and Auditing., Master of Science in Economics. or Graduate Diploma in Business Administration and a minimum of 6–8 years of experience from a manufacturing company or other complex business structure – preferably in a group setup. You have a strong business understanding and experience with accounting, reporting, operating and production economics, cash management, as well as tax, VAT and compliance.
As a person, you are passionate about business economics and are analytically strong with the ability to translate numbers and KPIs into value-creating decision-making. You are a unifying and trustworthy frontrunner for the Finance team, work in a structured way and take natural responsibility. You are outreaching, committed and organizationally interested and are able to create stability and strong relationships over time. You thrive in a role with both strategic and operational responsibility and master English and German at a level where you can professionally handle everyday life.
