Chief Operating Officer

An analytical and strategic COO who provides clarity and insight as a foundation for optimization projects and the efficient operation of a complex international supply chain.

Holmris B8 is a leading Scandinavian sales and design company specializing in innovative interior solutions for private companies, public organizations and the hospitality segment, offering both its own-brand furniture and items from over 1,000 brand partners. Holmris B8 has a central logistics center, and several sales entities in Denmark and internationally. For this newly established position, we are looking for a Chief Operating Officer with solid leadership experience and a strong operational understanding to take overall responsibility for the operational side of the business. Equally important is the ability to optimize collaboration with the sales organization through a deep understanding of customer needs and expectations, combined with strong commercial acumen.

As COO, you will be responsible for the overall operational performance across Holmris B8, reporting directly to the CEO and being a member of the executive management team. This includes responsibility for a small-scale production of customized goods, logistics, procurement, project execution, and the day-to-day customer experience. You will lead an organization of approx. 150 employees through middle managers across locations in both Jutland and Zealand, acting as the link between strategy and execution for a total annual delivery value exceeding DKK 1.3 billion.

Primary tasks and responsibilities

  • Strategy, analysis, and development of the supply chain area.
  • People management, change management, and development of the overall supply chain organization, with a focus on motivation, well-being, and delivery performance.
  • Define the appropriate operational KPIs and ensure their effective implementation
  • Identify and prioritize strategic change projects within the supply chain and take on project management of the most critical initiatives at both portfolio and steering committee level.
  • Financial management of the supply chain setup in close collaboration with the CFO, while continuously contributing to the development of operational financial reporting.
  • Serve as a close sparring partner to the CEO, particularly in the supply chain area, but also contribute to the overall development of the business.
  • Participate in the preparation of due diligence and business cases for acquisitions and new projects from a supply chain perspective.
  • Ongoing dialogue with Sales regarding the pipeline and project prioritization.
  • Support overall planning and coordination between departments within Operations and across the entire organization.

You are more passionate about efficient supply chains, seamless project execution, business development, and leadership than traditional production.

Holmris B8 is not a standardized manufacturing company, and most of the products are produced by external manufacturers of own brands or by third-party suppliers. Most of the complexity lies in the logistical management, as interior design projects – often worth tens of millions of DKK and spanning 6–12 months – must be delivered in a way that perfectly balances cost efficiency with the customer’s needs.

In addition, you are able to collaborate closely with the sales and operations organizations, where internal orders from sales representatives must be prioritized, planned, and delivered with high precision. The cooperation between these two business areas is crucial – and you will be the key to making it succeed.

Your profile

  • Solid experience as a COO, VP/Supply Chain Director, Operations Director, or a similar leadership position in a medium-sized or larger production- or project-based company with an international focus.
  • Solid experience in leading leaders and in being part of the company’s top executive team. Strong in change management.
  • Significant strategic insight and experience.
  • Experienced in operating and navigating within a complex Supply Chain setup with high demands for managing subcontractors, procurement, delivery reliability, and logistics.
  • Experience as a sparring partner to the CEO and a larger sales organization, including ongoing dialogue with Sales.
  • Experience with the S&OP process and end-to-end logistics (inbound and outbound).
  • Experience with continuous improvement programs.
  • Experience in negotiating with suppliers in an international context.
  • Strong competencies within IT, including the ERP landscape.

As a person you have a strong can-do and will-do attitude maintained even when facing significant opposition and you have a high energy level and ability to energize others. Your leadership style is rooted in integrity, professionalism, and value-based leadership with respect for colleagues, who you meet at eye level. You have a structured working style and analytical mindset and are a skilled communicator both internally and externally.

Join a dynamic and fast-growing company
You will take on a highly central role in one of Denmark’s most ambitious B2B interior design companies, characterized by strong expertise, a fast-paced environment, and deeply rooted values. You will become part of a dynamic group with an engaged executive team and significant potential for further growth (with a target of 50% growth) –in Denmark, but particularly internationally. This will happen through both organic growth and strategic acquisitions in selected markets. Holmris B8’s majority shareholder, Mentha, offers the right candidate an attractive incentive program, with the option for co-investment if desired.
