Senior Financial Controller

For an exciting role, we are seeking a strong financial profile who can apply his/her financial expertise and influence the business. You will join a competent Finance Team and report to the VP Finance of the Meat Solutions Europe business unit, which encompasses approximately 300 employees across Denmark, Germany, the Netherlands, and Romania. Transactional tasks are handled by the Shared Service Center in Romania, which is naturally a close partner in daily operations. Additionally, Group Finance is responsible for the overall consolidation at the Group level.

You will become the “right hand” to the VP Finance and a key figure in financial reporting, as well as in the work to automate finance processes and create transparency across the business. You will act as a financial sparring partner to the business, with your primary stakeholders being the Project and Engineering Departments.

You are responsible for financial reporting and controlling for Meat Solutions Europe and you are responsible for all communication and coordination with external auditors. 

Your key tasks will be to: 

• Professionalise Finance as a whole, including the approach to reporting, budgeting, and forecasting
• Ensure timely and accurate reporting
• Prepare monthly and annual financial reports
• Perform weekly cash flow reporting and forecasting
• Analyse financial deviations, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions
• Continuously develop and improve financial processes, internal controls, and streamline workflows
• Ensure efficient audit processes and the timely provision of necessary documentation
• Support finance-related decision-making through data-driven insights and analyses
• Drive finance projects across the organisation and conduct ad hoc business analyses

You will collaborate with both Danish and international contacts, and the overall perspective is highly international.

Your success will depend on using your strong financial expertise to qualify business decisions. Data, analyses, and business cases will form the foundation for your recommendations to management and the business.

You are expected to take ownership of your tasks and independently drive various initiatives. Your immediate manager has a delegating leadership style based on trust and openness. This independence is combined with ample opportunities for professional sparring in your day-to-day work.

Solid accounting expertise as an Auditor or Financial Controller
You probably hold a cand.merc.aud. degree or an HD(R) qualification and have a strong command of the “classic” financial disciplines of accounting, controlling, and reporting. You have experience working as an auditor - and may still be working in that role - or you currently hold a similar position as a Financial Controller in a production or project-based company.

Furthermore, you have experience with and a genuine interest in understanding the KPIs that drive the business. You therefore find it motivating to engage with the organisation and to have business-oriented dialogues with decision-makers.

You possess strong system skills and are highly proficient in Excel. It is considered an advantage if you have experience with POC (Percentage of Completion) accounting principles.

Since the company is part of an international group, it is important that you are highly proficient in spoken and written English and that you have an international mindset.

You are used to working independently and analytically while also executing tasks in a hands-on manner. Moreover, you are characterised by your ability to prioritise and create structure and overview.
