Process Engineering Manager

Lead the team - improve processes – secure a quality product at a minimum cost

West manufactures pre-packaged components in accordance to GMP principles, where quality and purity standards must meet the requirements of customers in the pharmaceutical industry. Due to the ambition of continuously increasing the quality, purity and optimizing the output by better yield optimization and driving Cost of Poor-Quality projects - West seeks a Process Engineering Manager with focus on processes in the production area.

You report to the Site Director in Horsens and are part of the Danish management Group. 15 process engineers assigned to different competence areas report to you. You are responsible for ensuring that key process knowledge is embedded in standard operating instructions, and that all site activities are aligned with the global Subject Matter Expert network and the quality department.

Increase quality and drive yield optimization projects

You manage and motivate the team of 15 process engineers and coordinate activities. Furthermore, you plan and manage process improvement initiatives and activities and manage projects within the process engineering department. Your tasks will also include improving quality by solving corrective and preventive actions delegated by site quality department. Other primary tasks include:
  • Lead project teams and team meetings as required. The role implies driving cross functional activities
  • Participation in daily Tier meetings with colleagues from other departments
  • Develop initial project scope, timeline, savings and cost estimations.
  • Facilitate meetings with customers both on and off site to determine the needs, requirements and customer specifications.
  • Present justification to management and/or customer to attain approvals.
  • Review production and operating reports and resolve operational and manufacturing problems to ensure minimum cost and prevent operational delays.
  • Organizational development to ensure that competencies and resources matches the goal of the department

Process-oriented engineer with managerial experience
Your educational background is perhaps a bachelor or a master’s in engineering or science. More importantly you have a solid background from high-volume chemical and/or ingredient manufacturing processes, where quality and purity standards are high on the agenda. In this context you have managerial or supervisory experience and insight in manufacturing processes, workflows, production equipment and industrial techniques. Experience with SAP is a plus.

As a person you are systematic, analytical, persistent and able to prioritize the most important tasks. You create motivation, ownership and progress through clearly defined priorities, goals and visions. You are curious and humble about how others can contribute as well as enterprising. You have great personal commitment and a drive to deliver high quality.
