Managing Director for a global market leading business subsidiary
International management of global service/logistics business unit
The role is to lead approximately 100 employees at several locations throughout the world. You will report to the CEO of the group company and become a member of the extended management group. You will have the full P&L responsibility and will be accountable for providing strategic leadership for the company. It is vital you possess the skills to establish short, medium and long-term goals, plans and policies to support the vision of the Board.
Close to market, customers and 24/7 delivery
In this role, you will have management, strategic and stakeholder responsibilities. You will be expected to manage and motivate your team, which are based in multi sites throughout the world. You will be expected to create a culture where the customer comes first and build and maintain good relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Some of your other primary tasks are to:
- Ensure a cost-effective business model including considering processes and structure and the ongoing development of value propositions and services
- Prepare and follow-up on budgets and KPIs in consultation with the CFO
- Head the organizational development to ensure that competencies and resources match the vision and expectations of the Board
- Ensure optimal utilization of the organizational resources available thereby enhancing the value creation
- Participate in key client meetings and keep abreast of client and market needs
- Participate in meeting potential clients with the Sales Director
- Identify, select and prioritize market initiatives and prepare supportive and clarified business plans
- Consider ongoing potential acquisitions and be an active part of the due diligence process with regards to acquisitions of subsidiaries
- Secure a close sparring with group management and organization
Commercial international people manager
You will have extensive international people management experience thus understanding how to lead different cultures in several geographical areas. You will have had previous P&L responsibility and understand the need to deliver sustainable results through satisfied customers and cost control. In your basic DNA and reflected through your experience you will be instinctively close to the market, be genuinely interested in customers and concerned about meeting their needs. You will also be passionate about delivering great service, first time, every time. You should also possess solid international negotiation skills and experience in preparing business plans/strategies in an international context.
You will be able to motivate, inspire and create ownership and progress through clearly defined priorities, goals and vision. You will be result-oriented and have a solid business acumen. You will understand what it takes to make bottom line profit. You will have the ability to lead a team to deliver the best results but be passionate about ensuring everyone in your team are developed to be the best they can be.
