Vega Salmon is one of Europe's largest producers of salmon for the retail and foodservice markets, supplying large international retail chains and foodservice providers. In January 2023, the company became part of the Norwegian group Coast Seafood, which is a globally oriented seafood company with exports to more than 80 markets worldwide.

Coast Seafood operates throughout the value chain with a focus on quality, sustainability and strict food safety standards, and the acquisition of Vega Salmon has strengthened the Group's position in the processing and global distribution of salmon and other seafood products.

Vega Salmon's administration is located in Haderslev with approx. 20 employees, while the production is located in Handewitt in Germany, where the plant employs between 300 and 700 people, depending on the season. In addition, Vega Salmon has sales offices in Italy, Germany and Thailand.

Financial Controller

Do you want to be an important part of the finance function in an international manufacturing company and contribute to stable operations, structure and high quality in financial reporting?

Vega Salmon is looking for a Financial Controller to strengthen the finance team in Haderslev. The position is created as part of a strengthening of the finance function, and you will be a central sparring partner and the right hand of the Finance Director. You will have the opportunity for professional development in a strong professional environment, where you work with a complex group structure with several subsidiaries and international interfaces. 

Your primary tasks will be:
  • Implementation of month-end, including reconciliations, assessments and preparation of monthly reporting for Vega Salmon's companies.
  • Consolidation of the companies into a single monthly report, ensuring high transparency and accuracy.
  • Handling of VAT, taxes and customs.
  • Payroll and payroll administration for the Danish unit.
  • Close collaboration with other members of the Finance team.
  • Professional sparring and support for the Finance Director and deputy function.
A structured and professionally strong profile
You hold a relevant degree in finance or business administration (e.g. HD, MSc in Business Administration, Financial Management or equivalent) and a minimum of 2–3 years of experience from a similar position in accounting, auditing, controlling or finance. You have experience with consolidation of several companies and thrive in a role where quality, structure and overview are crucial.
As a person, you are analytical and structured, work independently and take responsibility for your tasks. You are collaborative, professionally robust and actively contribute to a stable and well-functioning finance function. You are fluent in English and preferably also in German, enabling you to operate professionally in an international environment. You live within reasonable driving distance of Haderslev.
