Danske Flådeskibe K/S

Danske Flådeskibe K/S is a Danish naval shipbuilding consortium dedicated to designing, constructing, and maintaining the next generation of military vessels. Established in response to rising geopolitical challenges and the need for national security and supply chain independence, the company brings shipbuilding back to Denmark – built with Danish expertise, innovation, and values.

The consortium unites leading Danish players: Odense Maritime Technology (advanced naval design), Terma A/S (defense technology), PensionDanmark (strategic investment), and Semco Maritime (industrial integration). Together, they deliver a complete value chain from concept and design to construction, system integration, maintenance, and upgrades.

Danske Flådeskibe today consists of 11 dedicated employees. The consortium operates under a matrix structure, supplementing Danske Patruljeskibe’s permanent staff with specialists from OMT, Semco Maritime, and Terma A/S, who contribute on varying time commitments through dotted-line collaboration.

You can be based at DFS’s location at Terma in Lystrup, Aarhus, or in Søborg, Copenhagen.

Head of PMO

Lead the establishment and operation of the PMO in one of Denmark’s most significant national defense projects. In this role, you will set the systems, standards, and processes that ensure governance, coordination, and transparency across a high-profile, multi-phase naval vessel program.

Establish and Lead the PMO Function
As Head of PMO, you will report directly to the COO and have the authority to lead the PMO function across consortium partners and project phases. You will manage the current FEED (Front-End Engineering & Design) phase, design the PMO structure for the upcoming construction phase, and oversee the integration of advanced project management systems. This is a strategic leadership position in a complex, multi-stakeholder environment, requiring both hands-on structure building and long-term team development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and operate a PMO function within DFS, ensuring coordination across consortium partners and with clients.
  • Manage and optimize the current SharePoint-based PMO system for documentation control, reporting, and governance.
  • Lead the design and rollout of a comprehensive PMO for the construction phase, including integration of IFS project delivery systems.
  • Define policies, KPIs, and governance processes for risk, change, and performance management.
  • Oversee systems integration with Primavera P6, Excel, and other reporting tools.
  • Act as a central interface between senior leadership, consortium stakeholders, and client PMO teams.
  • Recruit, train, and develop the PMO team as the project scales.

Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
You are a strong leader with the vision and persistence to build a PMO from the ground up in a high-stakes, complex environment. With a relevant Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, you bring solid experience in PMO or project leadership for large-scale capital projects, ideally in EPC, defense, infrastructure, or shipbuilding. You have successfully established PMO functions from early phases to delivery and are skilled in governance, risk/change management, and performance tracking. Experienced with systems such as IFS, Primavera P6, SharePoint, or Power BI, you communicate clearly, influence across organizational boundaries, and combine strategic perspective with a hands-on, structured approach. You are eligible for Danish or NATO security clearance.

Strategic Leadership in National Defense
Take on a key leadership role in one of Denmark’s largest projects, shaping the implementation of a PMO function and influencing the transition from design to construction. With high autonomy and the opportunity to build and lead a dedicated team, this role offers a unique chance to make a significant impact.
