Area Sales Manager – DLF Seeds and Science

Growing market-leading company
The Export Department of DLF in Denmark is looking for a new colleague that will join a team of four dedicated employees. The Export Team is a crucial part of the sales in DLF, and you will play an active part of your own development in DLF. The role is based in Roskilde.

As an Area Sales Manager in DLF you are responsible for the sales of DLF grass, clover, and alfalfa to wholesale customers in Europe. You will be thoroughly trained in the products, so that you are able to act as a trusted advisor towards the customers on products and positioning of our products. You will be responsible for annual plans for customers within your area of responsibility. You will analyze the opportunities and threats and draw up concrete action, sales and marketing plans.

DLF wholesale customers are typically customers for many years and relationship management is an important part of your work. You will travel to visit customers, maintain the relationship, and grow the business.

You will work closely with the Wholesale Export Team within the Greater Europe business unit and also with colleagues from Marketing and Product Management. In addition, there is intensive cooperation with colleagues within the Supply Chain for the further processing and guidance of orders towards your customers.

Extroverted and focused commercial profile with technical insight
You probably have a relevant commercial education combined with experience from international B2B sales in a related industry (preferably agricultural related) where you have successfully worked with long-term relationship sales. You speak and write Danish and English at a high level and should expect to have 30-60 annual days of travelling.

You have a great drive and are both proactive and outgoing, while thriving really well by going in depth and exploring opportunities. Handling longer sales projects makes great demands on your patience and persistence, as well as your ability to prioritize and focus on the goal. You are not afraid to roll up your sleeves and act on a more operational level, and it is important that you have the ability to negotiate and communicate constructively and positively.

The job includes several administrative tasks, and there is no sales supporter employed by the team.

You live within a reasonable driving distance of Roskilde. Working from home is possible to the extent that it makes sense in terms of tasks and travelling.
